Wayne Trapp was an established North Carolina artist specializing in large-scale outdoor stone and steel sculpture as well as painting. His work is present in many significant public and private collections, including R. J. Reynolds, New York City and London; First Union National Bank (now Wells Fargo) of Charlotte; The New York Times, New York City; Duke University Medical Center, Durham; The Mint Museum, Charlotte; and others.
