A stunning merganser hen by unknown hand. Martha's Vineyard, circa 1900. It is amazing that the bill and comb have remained intact. This decoy has loosely been attributed to the work of Benjamin D Smith (1866-1946). Wooden Dowel rod through head into body.

Length 16 in.
