Ira Hudson (1873-1949), Chincoteague, Virginia. Ira was undoubtably Virginia's most famous decoy carver. This early merganser sports a long fluted tail, fat cheeks, and desired carved teeth in the bill. It is an important piece of great Virginia folk art.
