Meiji period (1868-1912), late 19th century, the body of each hand painted with two large shaped registers outlined in blue, one side with a pair of pheasants and three bluebirds amidst a lush garden of flora and the reverse side with landscape of houses along a river with mountains in the background, the neck is decorated with a colorful scrolling vine and floral motif and flanked by two faux butterfly handles, with green
fuku mark to underside, comes together with raised carved wooden bases.
