Early 20th century, carved wood and gesso, hinged lid with architectural raised panel having a scale and acanthus leaf design, stippled and carved foliate decoration, open interior, the front panel with a hand painted battle scene, the sides with varying coats of arms, gadrooned border, on carved paw feet.
