Both pieces are naturalistically carved from single piece of ironwood, the first of dueling lions, appears unsigned (16 x 25 x 12 in.); the second of an African elephant depicted in a mock charge, with inscribed name "Prince Nkosana" to underside. (12 1/2 x 23 x 12 in.)

From the Collection of the late Dr. Joseph C. Greenfield, Jr., Durham, North Carolina

Both with scattered hairlines and stable shrinkage cracks; lions with some visible glue repairs to base and tail; elephant with one tusk loose.
