Set of Six Antique English Chippendale Style Mahogany Carved Dining Chairs

Mid-19th century, Rococo Revival, featuring a scrolled crest rail with relief carved acanthus leaf to ears, pierced and carved back splat set within a raised molded shoe, shaped molded stiles, upholstered slip seat, flush seat rail with molded edge, cabriole front legs with acanthus carved knee and C-scroll interior, ball and claw feet, down-swept rear legs.

38 x 22 x 22 in.; Seat height 17.5 in.

Attractive antique set retaining old possibly original surface with warm brown patina in usable condition.

Some later corner brace blocks; staining and water damage to later upholstered seat; one chair's front right ankle with break and repair; one chair with break and repair at upper crest rail and stile joint.
