Tillman Lewark (1864-1945), Corolla, North Carolina. Tillman Lewark was the oldest son of John Lewark and was a noted market hunter and hunting guide. He was the caretaker of the Monkey Island Club from 1885 to 1903. This decoy was possibly made during that tenure. Very few of his decoys exist today. This exact decoy is published on page 258 of Gunnin` Birds by Kroghie Andresen.
