Lot Details & Additional Photographs
This extremely early shorebird decoy originally sold in the Mackey Collection Sale on July 10, 1974 as an "Early Virginia Snipe" decoy. Some believe this decoy was made by Lafayette Seabury (1823-1910) of Bridgehampton, Long Island. It is a full bodied shorebird and the gray paint appears to be original. It has a wonderful presence on the shelf.

Length 11"
