Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Ira Hudson (1873-1949), Chincoteague, Virginia. Ira Hudson was good carpenter and excellent boat builder but by 1920 he had established himself as the finest decoy maker in the area. He was a speedy carver and his proficiency with his tools left little need for sanding. His decoys are some of the most sought after by collectors. This is a classic Hudson shorebird carving and will make a special addition to an important collection.
