Born in Birmingham, Clarence Henry Roe was from a family of artists. As an adult, Roe spent several years in Scotland before finally settling in Yorkshire. He exhibited his works at The Royal Hibernian Academy.

Rydal Water is a small body of water in the English Lake District.
