From the Collection of a Lady, Pittsboro, North Carolina Frans Gyllenberg likely apprenticed as a silversmith in Sweden before moving to Boston and joining the Handicraft Shop in 1906. In 1910 he was promoted to master craftsman in the Society of Arts & Crafts, Boston in 1910, and a medalist craftsman in 1929.
Alfred Swanson joined Gyllenberg at the Handicraft Shop as his assistant in 1926.
The hand-raised pieces from their shop were highly sought after. The MFA - Boston has a fine silver tray in their collection.
A few light scratches; overall in good estate condition.
