34-1/4 in. single fuller blade, the right side marked U. S. /J.M./ 1865; the left side with maker's name and location; brass guard and pommel; leather wrapped grip secured with twisted brass wire; iron scabbard with two suspension rings.

Private Collection, Greensboro, North Carolina The blade with numerous chips. a blunted tip, and overall oxidation; the brass elements heavily weathered with rough surfaces that cover up the original color of the metal; wear to leather; grip wire intact; the scabbard with finish losses and oxidation. In short, "attic" condition.
