Ike Merrell Gallop (1878-1952), Halls Harbor, North Carolina. He was locally known as Captain Ike and was the neighbor of market hunter Sam Sawyer. This is one of the finest examples we have seen from the carver. It is pure sculpture and has a wonderful surface; branded IMG.
