Walter Fryer Stocks was closely associated and friendly with the Pre-Raphaelites, including Simeon Solomon and Dante Rossetti. His portrait of Fanny Eaton, a favored muse of the brotherhood, is in the collection of the Princeton University Art Museum. Additional works by Stocks are in such prominent collections as the Victoria & Albert Museum and the British Museum in London.
