Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Patinated iron, welded and assembled in the shape of an imagined building with tall chimney, incised artist cipher near base, mounted atop a cubic stone plinth.

A Kansas native, Hoss Haley is a contemporary sculptor creating both large scale and intimate works in bronze, steel, or other metals often found and repurposed. He favors industrial materials and fabrication methods, building or adapting the machines and tools he uses to produce his work. His work is heavily influenced both conceptually and aesthetically by the western landscape of his youth.

Hoss has completed public art projects for the Pack Square Conservancy (Asheville, NC), Charlotte Area Transit System and Mecklenburg County (NC) as well as several privately commissioned large-scale steel sculptures. Hoss’s work has been shown at several museums and galleries nationwide, and he has been a resident artist at Penland School of Crafts (NC) and at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (WI).

Good estate condition, some scattered loss to stone base edges.
