Early 20th century, these two very stylish yellowlegs decoys probably were carved from the Avon or Salvo villages on the outer banks of North Carolina, the neatly shaped profile of these mid sized flattie decoys with wire bills set them apart from most others, similar yellowlegs decoys were found in Salvo as many species of shorebirds were hunted there, published on page 164 of Shorebird Decoys of North Carolina by Kroghie Andresen and Philip Harvey.
