1868, the steel engraving depicts a rail line being destroyed during the "March to the Sea," pencil signed by the artist, Felix Octavius Carr Darley, and the engraver, Alexander Hay Ritchie. Presented behind a mat in a contemporary carved wooden frame, 37 x 51-1/2 in.
Private North Carolina Civil War Collection Not examined out of the frame; unknown if laid to a board, or if the original margins are altered; several vertical splits along the edges. Overall good condition and an impressive presentation.
