Attributed to Maryland, circa 1800, mahogany veneers, poplar secondary, three-part form, attached but removable dovetailed broken arch cornice featuring pierced and scrolled fretwork, the cornice with stylized elongated dentil molding and relief carved scrolled terminus, the pediment above a stylized Greek key above a vertically veneered frieze, carved gilt eagle finial, the bokcase with two large hinged doors with astragal molded mullons, louvered shelved interior above three side-by-side small drawers with herringbone inlay, the base featuring pull-out fall front butler's desk with central prospect door, opening to reveal a secret upper drawer above a over drawer flanked by two document drawers, flanked by three small drawers over four valance pigeon holes to each side, above three graduated case drawers, all drawers with applied cockbeading and triple line oval inlays, raised on original bold shaped bracket foot base.

Cornice fretwork with some cracks and repairs; gilt carved eagle old but uncertain if original; crack to one pane of glass; later felt writing surface; later drawer guides; bracket feet are original with some later brace blocks to rear feet.
