Neal Conoley writes about Stowe on page 186 of Waterfowl Heritage North Carolina Decoys and Gunning Lore, "Norwood Stowe made a rig of very fine canvas geese for his gunning stand. Norwood`s decoys are some of the largest and most well-constructed canvas decoys. Stowe added a wooded tail for support and a carved cheek patch provided additional detail."

Original paint; chip to tip and underside of the bill; several tears in canvas at wire ribs.
