Callie O'Neal (NC, 1910-1970), Widgeon

Churches Island, North Carolina, this widgeon was from his personal hunting rig, it has a string of net weights as a ballast and an exceptionally carved head.

Length 17 in.

Callie was born and raised near Nags Head but moved to Churches Island as a young teenager. During the 1930's, he fished commercially and worked as a hunting guide.
