Pieter Van Der Westhuizen was born in Pretoria, South Africa. He began his art studies under several well known South African artists beginning in the 1950s. In 1980s, he went to Belgium to continue his studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, the Stedelijke Akademie in Ghent, and the Ryks Centrum voor Grafiek in Kasterlee. He also spent several years studying woodblock printing in Japan.

Minor rubbing and nicking to frame; overall in good estate condition. Not examined out of the frame.
