Qing dynasty (1644-1912), blue silk ground frontal fragment from a
chaofu embroidered in colors and gold metallic thread with an imperial frontal facing dragon with five claws encircling a flaming pearl of wisdom, the dragon is hovering above a three peak mountain with ocean waters below and clouds above symbolizing the cosmos, a blue silk court robe would have been worn by imperial princes and imperial relatives as ordered by the Qing court, framed with a silk mat, embroidery is secured to a red ground mat, gilt wood frame, not examined outside of the frame.
