Second half 19th century, .45 caliber, unmarked 38-1/2 in. octagonal barrel with two fixed sights; walnut stock with iron lock, the plate stamped CALDERWOOD, iron ramrod pipes, the ramrod withcarved bone tip.
A Kentucky Collection Lock works, but needs adjustment; overall oxidation to iron; the butt stock with drilled space, possibly for an inlay; the stock appears to have never been fitted with a buttplate. Overall good condition for display.
