Late 19th or early 20th century, screen in three parts, central and two narrow side panels, attached together with old pins and hooks, all lacquered in a golden copper color and meticulously painted in black with an elaborate battle scene, lower sections painted with qilins and mythical beasts, the reverse of the panels is decorated with gilt floral sprays.

DOA 34 3/4 x 39 3/4 in.

Wear with some loss to edges, especially the upper corners; some metal hardware has been replaced; cracking to decoration on the reverse.
