Trio of North Carolina Plovers Mounted on Wood Base

Likely from the Avon region of the Outer Banks, 1st quarter 20th century, carved and painted wood, iron stake.

Length 8 in.

Early fat plovers each being carved from one piece of wood. All three decoys have holes cut through the tail for the purpose of transportation. These three rig mates have thankfully survived together.
