Worked in multi-color silk on linen ground, with four alphabet rows to upper register and with hymn verse written by Reginald Heber (1783-1826, an English bishop and hymnist) to center, "The flowers of spring may wither the hope of summer fade / The autumn droop in winter the birds forsake the shade / The winds be lulled the sun and moon forget their old decree / But we in natures latest hour O Lord will cling to thee," bottom register with maker's name and date, "Ann Judge 1852," all within a strawberry border, presented under glass in a painted black frame with gilt liner.
