Late 19th and early 20th century examples including a multi-color (16) geisha figure fan with silvered bamboo staves, verso with hand painted flowers (8 x 15 in.); a (26) stave fan with silvered paper blade featuring a hand painted harbor scene, delicate wavy black lacquered staves with silvered decoration, verso with floral sprays (9 x 16 in.); gold leaf fan with painted scrolling blue clouds to both sides with ten bamboo staves (14 x 23 in.); signed woodcut of Mount Fuji with ten red lacquered bamboo staves, verso with speckled silver decoration (12 x 19 in.); and a small fan with black field featuring a hand painted Kabuki scene on (31) bamboo staves, verso is plain (7 x 12 in.).
From the Collection of Keil Wurl, Raleigh, North Carolina The silvered fan with some tears to creases; the smallest with a small tear to right corner at crease; all in a fairly delicate state but worthy of framing and would make a wonderful display.
