A Southeast Asian Buddhist Manscript

Early 20th century, Thailand or Indonesia, nineteen thin sheets of bamboo, inscribed with text in Pali on both sides of leaves, probably of a Buddhist sutra, with three holes for string to secure together, covers exterior wood, inscribed with title.

13 1/2 x 1 3/8 x 3/4 in.

Acquired by Mr. and Mrs. John and Susan van Lennep, Southeast Asia and West Africa, 1960-70s

Good estate condition; missing two ties for sides.
