New England Federal Inlaid Mahogany Butler's Bookcase

Attributed to Massachusetts, circa 1820, two part form, dovetailed case, mahogany veneer, white pine and chestnut secondary, applied pediment with central inlaid panel featuring three brass finials, above a veneered frieze above two upper cabinet hinged doors with molded astragal mullions, shelved interior with later mirrored back, above a central burl veneered prospect door opening to reveal two small drawers, flanked by two hinged cabinet doors each with two small drawers and five valanced pigeon holes, hinged fold-out writing surface with loper support and inset green baize, above three cock beaded drawers with central highly figured burl central panel, flanked by three-quarter ring turned columns extending to a tapered foot.
