Engraved Early American Powder Horn with Masonic Themes, signed James Lattimore

Likely Virginia, late 18th century, carved and stained horn with iron suspension loops securing a leather strap; the lower portion is engraved to read "CEMENTED WITH LOVE / THE DARKNESS COMPREHEND ET NOT / JAMES LATTIMORES HORN/ HIRAM NOAHS ARK"; the incised decoration features Masonic symbolism and themes.

Original; plug cap missing; wear and abrading to leather; small area of loss to rim edge of horn at mounting hole.
