Philippe Bonnet was born in Paris. He studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris from 1944 to 1946 and also studied under André Lhote. His abstract paintings were well received and he exhibited throughout Europe. A review of his paintings was published in the 1953 edition of the famed Cahiers d'Art.
