Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, circa 1920s, carved and painted wood, published on page 315 of
Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen.
Length 17 in.
The Marvin Midgett wooden decoys have a very stately look. He did not make many of them, so they are difficult to find and very collectible. The heads on his wooden decoys are all one piece, unlike his canvas decoys.
Former collection of Kroghie Andresen
Original paint, some old insect damage to wood on left side prior to the decoy being made, some tight age checks to the body.
