Madison Mitchell (MD, 1901-1993), Pair of Black Ducks

Havre de Grace, Maryland, circa 1940s, carved and painted wood, one decoy is signed "R. Madison Mitchell Havre de Grace, MD 1945."

Length 17 in. each.

A very nice pair of black ducks with outstanding paint application. Today, some of Mitchell`s decoys are displayed at the Smithsonian Museum but most are immortalized at the Havre de Grace Museum, which he helped to found.
