Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, celadon ground porcelain finely decorated in polychrome enamels with a myriad of birds, butterflies, fruit, insects, flora, and unusual motifs of a basket of flowers, a scroll, and a brush and bottle, stylized underglaze blue mark to the underside of each, the pair of dishes are set into ornate gilt ormolu mounts raised on the tails of three dolphin fish.

Private Collection, Greensboro, North Carolina One dish with a hairline at rim; some minor scratches and wear; writing to underside of one dish; the other dish not examined outside of the mount; one with a missing screw for side mount handle.
