Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Circa mid-1860s, the two-masted ship was built in New Castle, Maine, 1855
and is identified on the mat as "Brig 'Kitty Coburn' (428 Tons) of Rockland / Wm. J. Wilson, Commander." Here, she flies an American flag with 35+ stars. Presented behind mat in a period wooden frame (12-1/4 x 14-1/4 in.).

Some age toning to the mat; chips to frame; the painting in very good condition and presents very well.
