With a replacement 1275cc inline four cylinder engine with twin SU carburetors, and four speed manual transmission. It appears this car was used in some capacity of driving sport by the removal of the bumpers, addition of roll bar, racing styled seats with competition lap belts, and a fire extinguisher. The hood was modified to be removed for service, and held in place with hood pins. Also with 10" alloy wheels in Minilite style, fender flares, and dual fuel tanks.
Exterior in Red with a Union Jack painted on the roof. The interior with beige vinyl seat covers, panels, and red carpet that appears fairly new. The doors close properly and tight with sliding side windows, and rear windows that open with a latch that operates correctly.

The Collection of Nelson (Chip) Hague Leonard DDS, Colfax/Kernersville, North Carolina Noticeable recent work to include fuel system, front suspension, steering, front brakes, drivetrain, transmission, shifter, bushings, and exhaust by new parts installed; the body is in mostly original condition and appears solid with no evidence of major repairs or damage. Chrome and paint is in good condition.

At time of pickup the car was on the service lift in the garage, and appeared to be in a state of repair. In shop, it was determined that the clutch assembly had some problems, and attempts to correct it were unsuccessful. It was determined that possibly an incorrect throw out bearing was used, and affected the throw of the clutch engagement. Some modifications were made to allow operation of the vehicle. As a result, clutch engagement is precise and at the end of adjustment. This should be corrected, original parts were retained; small exhaust leak at the header connection (visible in photos) was corrected; the modified dash panels are covering an unfinished panel with a tachometer added, that is installed and connected correctly but not operational; passenger rear window is cracked; windshield washer was removed; heater box was replaced, but operation not verified; most of the original wiring is intact with some additions that are non-conforming; headliner is aged with some staining, and the interior finishes appear original; spare tire is absent, as well as tool kit.
