Late 19th century, cast bronze with warm brown patina, after the antique marble copy of the Greek sculpture now at the Museo Nazionali Romano, depicting Ares/Mars seated on a trophy of arms while Eros plays about his feet, incised foundry stamp "Morelli e Rinaldi / Roma / 1849" to base, mounted above a conforming black slate base.
