Edo period (1615-1868), a ceremonial Buddhist bell with meticulous casting details, offset bell holder at top below are two rows of spikes with key motif bands behind, encircling the body are leaf lappets with archaic patterning, along the bottom of the bell is a garland band of key motif connecting four chrysanthemum blooms, bell ringer to interior is incised and probably from a later date.
7 1/4 in., 4 3/4 in. diameter
Overall good estate condition; bell ringer to interior and fabric cord to top are probably later additions.
