The young man depicted seated in a red painted slat-back Windsor side chair with yellow stenciled decoration.

Surface grime; alligatoring to surface; paint loss in lower right quadrant and at upper right corner, affecting primarily the background, a small area of sitter's sleeve, and the chair's crest rail.
