From the Collection of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Trimborn, Raleigh, North Carolina Pierre's family surname was believed to be Tourguenev, but the spelling was changed to Tourgueneff after the family immigrated to France. Pierre was a student of the famous French animalier sculptor Emmanuel Fremiet (1824-1910). Similar to his teacher, Tourgueneff became well known as a figurative sculptor of animalia, equestrian figures, and other figurative subjects.
Some light rubbing to patina, otherwise good estate condition.
