Early 20th century, cover is decorated with a large shaped reserve of Chinese boys playing in a garden, reserve is surrounded by yellow ground with lotus blossom and scrolling decoration that continues to lower box, a band of ruyi motifs in pink and green encircle the cover and box rim, four character mark in iron red to underside.
