Serial number 539499, inspector's cartouche on left side of walnut stock reading SWP/1892, 32-5/8 in. round barrel with V/ P/ eagle head / P proof; fixed front sight and adjustable Buffington rear sight; marked U S / MODEL/1884 at breech and U S / SPRINGFIELD on lockplate; a script P inspector's mark is stamped in to the stock behind the trigger guard; with sliding ramrod-bayonet; the butt is stamped with a "7" over "522" on the right side and a large "7" on the left side; a brass tag reading "F /22" hangs from a front sling swivel. Overall length 52 in.
