Attributed to Salem, Massachusetts, circa 1825, multi-part form, fully developed foot posts with inverted trumpet, spiral twist, relief carved oak leaves and pineapple, head posts with ring turnings, stained white pine headboard with scrolled crest, maple bed rails with rope-holes, posts continue to form a tall distinctive turned leg, with later iron box-spring supports; brass cover plates to bolt holes and brass mounts to scrolled crests on headboard.
82.5 in. (to top of pin), post height 80.5 in. x 78.5 x 54 in., interior 72 x 48 in., floor to bottom of rail 18.25 in.
