Purchased in Tokyo after WWII by a state department employee who brought it back to the states with her when she returned home in the late 1940s.

Later upholstery over the original cushions with staining; fading and finish wear to the rattan; center section with broken cane wrap to bottom right corner of rear; the right section with broken cane wrap to bottom left rear corner; middle section with joint looseness near back at seat.
