Anonymous Blue Heron, Manson Meekins Rig

Avon, North Carolina, circa 1970, carved and painted wood, glass eyes, painted M.M brand, mounted on cut log base including four vintage photos on Manson Meekins in action.

Height 50 in.

This heron is full sized and was used as a confidence decoy. Manson Meekins knew the benefit to utilizing confidence decoys. He made two cormorants for use in stack up blinds.

Old gunning paint with some paint chipping on the tail, two tight age checks on the right side.
