From the Personal Collection of Philip and Susan Harvey The Berkeley Foundry in Norfolk, Virginia, which made iron works since its inception in 1894, was purchased by Sam Jones around 1919. Sam was an active outdoorsman on Ocracoke Island, particularly with the Green Island Club. He cast these small iron birds and gifted them to friends. This decoy was painted by famed decoy maker Charlie Warren Garrish.
Original paint with some oxidation to the surface.
