20th century, an elaborately cast censer with cover, raised on three legs formed as scrolled grape vines, body, encircling the body and supporting a spray of plum blossoms, the body is flanked by a pair of handles shaped as prunus branches with squirrels to either side, the cover has pierced openwork design of scrolling grape vines and leaves, surmounted by a mythical qilin with a small phoenix on its back, squirrels are featured climbing along the grapevines over the entire censer, an apocryphal six character Xuande mark to the underside.
13 1/2 x 17 1/2 x 14 in.
Overall good estate condition; some gilt remains to areas of the surface.
