The second of three hand built vehicles from the imagination and hands of an accomplished builder, this one-of-a-kind, hand-built replica of a Morgan four cylinder powered Three-Wheeler Type F2 and F Super introduced in 1936. It features the drivetrain from a1989 Honda Goldwing motorcycle with the 1540 cc flat six cylinder engine, 5-speed transmission with electric reverse. It is housed under the bonnet along with the aluminum radiator, and fabricated mounts for all of the accessories. The front end was assembled using Triumph Spitfire components, and utilizes 1935 Ford wheels and a 1932 Ford grill fabricated to fit. A custom wiring harness was made, as well as a relay box.
The frame was constructed using steel tubing, and the body formed from Ash wood sourced locally. All of the aluminum body panels were formed, fitted, and attached in the garage, and the louvres were handmade with a form built by Mr. McArthur. Aircraft style push pins were used to secure the panels, and the riveting follows a precise pattern. An authentic registration is displayed in a re-purposed soup can. The car was then sent out for professional paint, and follows a scheme only offered in the F2 series utilizing single stage paint. The seats were covered in a rich suede. The interior fabrication was also done utilizing modern Auto Meter gauges, and a custom linkage and shifter was made for the transmission. Many household items were used for interior items such as the coffee scoop that was used to house the turn signals, a house doorbell was used for the horn, and a wristwatch was mounted in the dash. Many replacement parts for Morgans were used such as the windscreens, mirrors and lights. The barrel back rear end with the spare tire tucked away. The ability to change a rear tire was addressed in the design, and can be performed in the field.
