Pair of American Late Federal Mahogany Carved Armchairs

New England, possibly Massachusetts, circa 1820, mahogany veneer, turned and rope twist concave crest rail, banded and inlaid horizontal back splat above a reeded back splat, reeded down-swept arms, turned arm supports, over upholstered seats, molded front saber legs.

32.5 x 21 x 20 in.

Later upholstery; one chair with break/repair at upper crest rail; both chairs with break/repair at center slat by stile and arm joint; wear and scratching to arms and legs.
